A parched, uneven, east-facing garden in Coventry has been completely transformed into a luxurious retreat complete with a bespoke water feature and inspirational planting.
The level of detail attained through the garden design and the installation accentuates the feeling of luxury throughout this landscape. With our careful planning, this garden will look good in all four seasons and needs the bare minimum of maintenance.
Project Overview
We were approached by our client as they were dissatisfied with their uneven, featureless and parched back garden. They wanted a functional garden where they could escape to relax and enjoy being outdoors.
Our garden design included a stylish garden room, the sound of flowing water and the use of various hard landscaping materials to create interesting textures and a journey around the garden.
There are always challenges when transforming a garden, and this project was no exception. Ensuring that all of the levels and transitions were correctly aligned called for careful planning and precise installation.
Corten Steel Water Feature & Wall Design
That beautiful corten steel water blade was bespoke-made and needed to be fitted with extreme accuracy.
Another area where accuracy was essential in this garden design was the installation of the wall tiles. These wall tiles needed to be cut very carefully to provide the mitred corners which offer a contemporary, elegant finish to the landscape.
Structural Planting Scheme
The planting scheme included pretty pom poms of Allium Purple Sensation to echo the shape of the topiary balls beneath them. These have been planted in layers to appear as though they float above the Stipa tenuissima.
In the raised beds, dramatic leaf shapes contrast with a pebble mulch and provide a fabulous pop of colour against the slate-coloured fence.
